In my case the mouse worked ever, the keyboard worked sometimes. But it was odd---really odd--and after shuffle in other keyboards, disconnecting everything other on the USB bus, I tranquilize had the problem. I COULD login with the "Handicap" point with sneak and click keyboard and once logged in could usually role the normal keyboard. Simply I could see from the disability keyboard that some keystrokes WERE getting through. For case if I ironed the SHIFT key I could see that the disability keyboard had seen the keystroke and shifted case. When the physical keyboard became "disconnected" while I was using it I could go to a mastery windowpane and find the keystrokes were non organism seen at that place but I could artless a notepad file away and see it was getting the keystrokes. Bizarro global. Later on reading everything I could find and trying down solutions which had worked for others I eventually tried the root above. So farther all is well. This trouble began fair before the Anniversary Edition Windows 10 update came exterior, and more than to my surprised remained after the update. Regrettably after cardinal days of working perfectly I could enter no characters at the signalize-in screen victimisation a USB keyboard. I did log in with the "disability" tap the letter with the creep keyboard and once logged in by this agency the normal USB keyboard worked---so my trouble was not resolved and I have given up, having exhausted all leads. I get three other computers running Windows 10, all on Anniversary Update, and none of them have this problem.

I just ran into this problem nowadays. After few reboots and googling I stumbled on this thread. Whils I was reading all this yarn I tried the onscreen keyboard, and noticed the cardinal Alt keys highlighted blue arsenic if they were beingness pushed simultaneously. Tried clicking the left Alt, nothing. Clicked the right Alt key, bingo they both turned off. Then hit the first letter of my password, nothing. Tried Caps Lock, hit the best letter - bingo, it worked. Then I tried the physical keyboard - the next two letters worked. I hit backspace and nothing happened. Thus I clicked Caps Lock on the onscreen keyboard and then tried backspace key on the physical keyboard and it worked. I was then able to enroll my passwprd without a problem connected the physical keyboard. Been victimisation for 10 minutes, no issues. Weird. I hope this helps someone.

I had this issue too, keyboard driver weak't loading with fast boot enabled.
to fix this.
Turn off Fast kicking in control panel, mogul options.
Control board
Power Options
Choose what the power buttons do
Alter Settings that are currently unavailable.
untick Trip fast start-improving.
Apply.
Reboot.

My system is a desktop running windows 10 Home 1709.16299.125, this is what worked for me but didn't, it came from COLGEEK at TomsHardware.com.
Close the scheme disconnect both USB keyboard and sneak, start system and let it load to logon screen. Plug in your keyboard and wait a a couple of seconds then test IT by hitting the spacebar. Then plug in your mouse. As COLGEEK explained, it rent out windows reload or reset the drivers for those devices.
Here's what didn't work: Formerly I typed in the password and IT booted to the desktop, I curst Keyboard function again. I shut depressed and started once again. At the logon blind I selected Ease of Access with the mouse and noticed that Filter Keys was connected so I shut IT soured and I had keyboard occasion again. When I tested it I likewise noticed something else, when you hit the spacebar more than formerly IT invokes the Repose of Access menu. Extraordinary how I must of did that while pressing a key to choice Filter Keys and didn't notice. Still not doomed.

I'm having the same problem too and it's 2018. It's pretty annoying because nothing happening my keyboard works, only if the mouse. I'm not one of those people World Health Organization have an external USB keyboard either, so this is a huge issue for me. I'm typing on a family member's laptop right now as well. This problem keeps occurrence and I've been trying to just push asid IT, simply IT'a identical troublesome, particularly when I have a paper Beaver State try out to write. I've tried almost everything too unless Windows or mortal else has some other prompting.

Same here. This has happened 5 times now, and nothing fixes information technology. I am a CS major, so I know how to mending these problems, but all time this has resulted in an infinite loop and so a broken Oculus sinister. It has happened once more, and rebooting/restoring State Department/ uninstalling updates/ factory reset/reinstall windows/revert to previous version doesn't work either. Literally nothing works, American Samoa my keyboard and mouse failure seems to be a death omen to my Microcomputer. If I have to l fling back to Best Buy out again, I'm asking them to replace my PC with a non-HP, since HP seems to not want to update itself to ever work with Windows. I'm spent of this **** and these bots respond with "press <insert key here>" when we clearly say our keyboard doesn't work. There is no operative solution online. and Microsoft doesn't deal since this shady transaction is what brought them on top, and they will carry on to do indeed arsenic long As IT works.
